Tõnu Trump graduated from Tallinn University of Technology in 1984 as a Radio Engineer, and received his Ph.D. also from Tallinn University of Technology in 1993. After that he was a postgraduate student in Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and started working at the Ericsson AB headquarters both in Stockholm. Dr. Trump worked for Ericsson 1994 - 2006, becoming the Ericsson Expert of Echo Cancellation and Voice Enhancement Devices. In 2002 - 2006 he also was the Rapporteur of Question 7 of Study Group 15 of ITU-T in Geneva. In 2006 Tõnu Trump returned to Estonia where he established Virgostell OÜ. In 2007 - 2017 he was the professor of signal processing of Tallinn University of Technology.
Dr. Trump has published more than 70 conference and journal articles and has authored fourteen patents.
